The major event for this month was the wedding of Tim and Renee. Here, we rally around Tim who, as you can probably tell, is the guy in the middle who looks so happy!I think my days of writing lengthier blogs are pretty much over, at least during the school year. Once again, I will include LOTS of pictures with a brief caption next to it. Ya'll are creative and bright enough to fill in the gaps.
I would also like to mention that I tried to update this blog this past Sunday and again on Monday...but was having technical difficulties. So, my intentions were good, but technology was working against me.
At the beginning of the month, Mom and Dad came for a quick one-night visit and treated us with a gift of an apple peeler/corer, as well as a few grocery bags filled with apples from their apple trees. Here, Mark shows the finished product.

Mr. Britches was less-than-thrilled with Mark tossing his sweatshirt on of his fat body as he napped. That being said, he contined sleeping this way for quite awhile, apparently pleased with the extra warmth it provided.
Miss Fanny is still Miss Fanny. 
Marko, Liz & Tanna stopped by early in the month too. It was Tanna's 6 month birthday, and they were toodlin' about.
As I mentioned with the opening picture, the big event for October was the wedding of our friends, Tim and Renee. Since the wedding was in Spring Green, which is not too far from us, Mark and I had the opportunity to host Ingrid and Craig and Phil and Matthew for the weekend. We had such a great time! Lots of much needed laughing and relaxing. Here, we began our time together catching-up over a couple drinks.
Mark and Craig enjoying the crisp morning air and the view. Although it turned out to be a beautiful sunny day, it was quite chilly (it even snowed in the morning for a few minutes).
Tim's wife, Renee, was a baker and dazzled everyone with four different cakes that were her own creations. Wisely, she did not do the actual baking of her own wedding cakes herself (brides have PLENTY to do anyway), but a friend made the cakes following Renee's recipes.
The wedding was on a beautiful piece of property outside of Spring Green that actually is normally run as a private pheasant hunting club (the name of it is escaping me right now). This was a display in the main building. 
As Mark and I walked around the property, we noticed this metal sculpture in front of the main building. I know this isn't the clearest image, but it is of a Llewellin setter hunting pheasant (you can see the pheasant in the flying in the air) in field grasses. We know it is a depiction of a Llewellin for sure because the artist is our friend, Paul, who is the breeder of our dogs! 
The pheasants at this facility were in particularly good "shape," with long tail feathers. These birds were just a few of hundreds kept in a caged area until they were bought to be released for hunts.
The main building where the wedding and the reception were held was a renovated old barn. This facility was quite stunning, both inside and outside. The view from the windows shows the rolling bluffs of the area.
