On Saturday we gathered at my sister's home in Colfax to celebrate the birthdays of two very important people in our family: Mom and Dad. Dad turned 80 yesterday, February 21, and Mom will be 66 on March 4!
Please note the eldest Hurlburt "child," Jonathan, laying on his stomach in the center of the picture, very kindly playing tea with a new tea set Leila received from Grandma Bragg. It's so sweet to see how the little kids just adore their older siblings (sounds familiar....).

Lisa had prepared a wonderful Mediterranean-themed luncheon and, with the help of the kids, had decorated the table with tulips, balloons and adorable artwork created by Michael, Emma and Leila.

We brought Leila's birthday gift along too, even though her 2nd birthday isn't until April 4.

Dad reading from one of his gifts. John, Jim, Mark and I purchased a book from the Ladysmith Chamber of Commerce entitled
The History of Rusk County. In this book was an excerpt written by Grandma Bragg about the history of the Bragg family in the Ladysmith area. An old photo of Grandma and Grandpa was also included next to the passage. The book itself is a handsome, sturdy book filled with the other historical facts and accounts of the county.

Our goofy family photo. We sure missed having Bob, who had to stay back in Madison for snow removal, and Bragg Family South with us.
Mark and I had to return that evening to Cross Plains, as Mark had an annual Pheasants Forever banquet to help set-up and run the next day. When we left we were lucky to witness a stunning sunset grace the Chippewa Valley farmlands.
